Latics host Walsall at Christopher Park in the first of their final three EFL Youth Alliance league fixtures in preparation for the EFL Youth Alliance Cup national final on Tuesday 30 April against Exeter City.

The Under 18s tasted their first league defeat of the season last time out in the Youth Alliance when they fell to a 2-1 defeat at home against Preston North End, but they bounced back immediately last weekend, beating their local rivals Preston 5-2 in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup final at the County Ground, Leyland on Saturday morning.

Goals from Charlie Jolley (2), Jensen Weir and Victor Maffeo (2) sealed an impressive victory, with Latics reaching 118 goals for their season in all competitions.

Already confirmed as EFL Youth Alliance champions, Latics have 58 points so far this season, whilst the visitors Walsall sit 12th.

Following Saturday's clash with the young Saddlers, Latics will travel to Wrexham and host Rochdale to see the season out.
