WIGAN ATHLETIC V NOTTS COUNTY
TUESDAY 5 FEBRUARY, KICK-OFF 2PM
Latics' Development Squad hope to bounce back in the Central League when they host Notts County at Christopher Park.
The unbeaten run came to an end last week when Latics were edged out by Doncaster Rovers, losing 3-2 at Christopher Park. The visitors scored two goals in seven minutes, despite Under 18 forward, Charlie Jolley, equalising for Nick Chadwick’s side in the 60th minute.
Doncaster then doubled their advantage with 20 minutes to go, before substitute and Jolley’s Under 18 strike partner, Kyle Joseph, pulled one back for the hosts in the 89th minute, but it was too little too late in a five-goal thriller between the two sides.
Latics will be hoping they can re-discover their home form after their 6-0 win over Mansfield Town, with goals from Ollie Crankshaw, Joe Gelhardt, Mitchell Culshaw and Joe Piggott (3) sealing an impressive result.
Meanwhile, visitors Notts County sit fourth, unbeaten in their last three Central League fixtures. A 2-1 away win at Doncaster Rovers followed by a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Grimsby Town and their most recent 2-1 away win at Mansfield Town sees The Magpies climbing the table.
