James Vaughan - Southend United 3 Portsmouth 3

The weekend's action kicked off with arguably the most exciting game across the EFL, as James Vaughan's Portsmouth were pegged back from 3-0 up away at Southend United thanks to a Simon Cox hat-trick for the Shrimpers!

Goals from Bryn Morris, Ben Close and Oliver Hawkins had Pompey marching towards a comfortable victory in the first half, only for Cox's treble to ruin the party.

Striker Vaughan was introduced as an 89th minute substitute to try and wrestle the game back in Portsmouth's favour, but they had to settle for a point.

Pompey sit third in Sky Bet League One on 60 points, five points behind second place Barnsley and 11 points behind leaders Luton Town.

Leo Da Silva Lopes - Gillingham 1 Scunthorpe United 0

Sticking in the third tier, Leo Da Silva Lopes had a very successful weekend, teeing up Mark Byrne for Gillingham's winner in their narrow 1-0 victory over Scunthorpe United.

Lopes featured for 78 minutes before being substituted, but he'd already helped to do the damage, with the Gills picking up three vital points to move them into 17th place on 36 points, three clear of Oxford United in the relegation zone.

Callum Lang - Oldham Athletic 1 Crewe Alexandra 1

Development Squad forward Callum Lang looked set to celebrate his 10th goal of the season as a match-winner, only for his strike to be canceled out by George Ray's 93rd minute equaliser, with Paul Scholes' Oldham Athletic resigned to a point.

The draw leaves the Latics 10th in Sky Bet League Two on 46 points, six points from the play-off places with a game in hand.

Luke Burgess - Sutton United 0 Barrow AFC 1

It was a successful return from injury for Development Squad midfielder Luke Burgess, who came on as a late substitute for Barrow AFC in their 1-0 win away at Sutton United.

Burgess was introduced in the 85th minute, with Josh Kay netting the Bluebirds' crucial goal in the final minute of the 90.

The victory sees Barrow 11th in the National League, 10 points behind Sutton who occupy the final play-off place in the division.

Joe Piggott - Altrincham FC 1 Bradford PA 1

Development Squad striker Joe Piggott set up Josh Hancock's opener in Altrincham's 1-1 draw with Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday, during a 75-minute appearance for the National League North side.

The draw kept Alty inside the division's play-off places in seventh by one point above Chester FC, but with a game in hand they could rise as high as fifth.

Olly Crankshaw - Brackley Town 2 Curzon Ashton 0

The Nash suffered their first defeat of 2019 on Saturday, slipping to a 2-0 loss away at fourth place side Brackley Town.

Olly Crankshaw featured for the full 90 minutes, with the loss leaving Curzon Ashton 12th in the table, five points behind Altrincham who they face on Saturday.
