JOE PIGGOTT & OLLY CRANKSHAW

It was the battle of two Latics Development Squad forwards in the National League North as Joe Piggott's Altrincham FC smashed Curzon Ashton 6-0, with the striker netting his first goals for Alty with a formidable hat-trick.

All three goals came in the second half with Altrincham already 3-0 to the good, with the first in the 47th minute, the second in the 54th and the third in the 71st.

Nash forward Crankshaw was introduced in the 57th minute with his side already 5-0 down.

The victory was a major boost to Alty's play-off hopes, keeping them seventh in the table and now four points clear of Chester FC in eighth.

Curzon Ashton are 13th on 41 points, eight behind Altrincham.

CALLUM LANG

Oldham Athletic got off to a flying start on derby day away at Bury FC thanks to Callum Lang's 11th goal of the season for the Latics, but it wasn't to be for Paul Scholes' side who eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat courtesy of a double from former Wigan Athletic frontman Nicky Maynard and one from Jay O'Shea.

Lang featured for the full 90 minutes and it was only late in the game that the hosts turned the game around, with the defeat for Oldham at Gigg Lane leaving them 13th in Sky Bet League Two on 46 points, eight points behind Exeter City in the final play-off place.

LEO DA SILVA LOPES

A step up in Sky Bet League One, Gillingham secured a second 1-0 victory in a row thanks to an 83rd minute winner from Regan Charles-Cook.

Leo Da Silva Lopes featured for the full 90 minutes, with the win putting the Gills in 17th place and five points above the relegation zone.

JAMES VAUGHAN

James Vaughan was an 84th minute substitute in Portsmouth's 0-0 home draw against Sky Bet League One's second place side Barnsley.

Pompey had the chance to edge in front in the 61st minute, only for former Latics striker Omar Bogle to miss from the penalty spot.

The point has Kenny Jackett's side fourth in the table on 62 points, five points behind the Tykes who remain second.

LUKE BURGESS

Development Squad midfielder Luke Burgess was a 66th minute substitute as Barrow AFC drew 0-0 at home against Ebbsfleet United.

The Bluebirds sit 12th in the National League on 46 points, 10 points behind Harrogate Town in the final play-off place.

JORDAN PERRIN

Development Squad goalkeeper Jordan Perrin made his debut for Runcorn Linnets in a 2-2 draw at home against Mossley AFC.

The draw leaves Runcorn Linnets second in the Evo-Stik West Division table, four points behind Atherton Collieries with a game in hand.
