KICK-OFF 3.00PM

Latics return to the DW Stadium for the first time since their thumping 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in mid-January.

Gary Roberts, Michael Jacobs and Joe Garner hit the target against Dean Smith's side, with Latics hoping for a repeat performance against visitors Queens Park Rangers who haven't won in the league since their 3-0 win against Ipswich Town at Loftus Road on Boxing Day.

Latics sit 20th on 29 points at the start of the day, with a victory enough to lift Paul Cook's side above Millwall should results go their way.

Steve McClaren's R's are 14th on 39 points, seven points from the Championship play-off places, with his former club Derby County sixth on 46 points.

EARLY TEAM NEWS

There has been a lot of positive fitness news coming out of the Wigan Athletic Training Centre at Euxton this week, with the return to training of Everton loanee Antonee Robinson following a prolonged spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury suffered on international duty in November.

The full back was joined by Anthony Pilkington and Gavin Massey in the main training group on Wednesday, adding a 'real buzz' to training, as explained by Gary Roberts in his interview for Saturday's match day programme.

Robinson and Massey won't be involved against QPR, but Paul Cook confirmed that Pilkington will be back in the 18-man squad, with the aforementioned duo set to be available for next weekend's trip to Rotherham United.

Latics continue to be without Nick Powell who recently suffered a set back in his recovery, and captain Samy Morsy will serve the first match of his two-game suspension for a 10th yellow card of the season against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Darron Gibson, who started Latics' last match against Forest, could continue in midfield. You can catch up with the 31-year-old on this week's episode of Latics Listen.

The DW Stadium could witness four debuts on Saturday, with Leon Clarke returning to the club on loan on Thursday, defender Danny Fox adding further experience following his arrival from Nottingham Forest, midfielder Beni Baningime arriving on transfer deadline day on loan from Everton and Swedish centre back Jonas Olsson signing on Friday in time to be registered for the game against QPR.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS

Steve McClaren will have an extra body available on Saturday, with Australian international Massimo Luongo returning from his stint at the Asian Cup, having missed the last six matches.

Positive news out of Loftus Road continued for R's supporters, with on loan striker Tomer Hemed back in training following a hernia operation, and further advances in the recoveries of Angel Rangel (thigh) and Geoff Cameron (ankle), who are both expected back this month.
