Wigan Athletic academy graduate Jordan Flores has completed a permanent transfer to League of Ireland side Dundalk, signing a two-year deal.
Flores, 23, will link up with the Irish Champions ahead of their title defence this season, having spent the majority of his career with Latics.
Having played in Latics’ Centre of Excellence, the Aspull-based midfielder signed for his boyhood club aged 15 and worked his way through the academy to win the club’s Young Player of the Season award as Gary Caldwell’s side lifted the League One title in 2015-16, in a season in which Flores scored a dream first goal for the club at the DW Stadium in a 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town.
Since his breakthrough campaign, Flores has helped Blackpool to win promotion to League One during a loan spell in 2017 before further experience was gained with both Chesterfield, AFC Fylde and Ostersunds FK.
Jordan leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Wigan Athletic and we hope he enjoys every success out in Ireland.
Good luck, Jordan!
