Wigan Athletic’s Summer Soccer Schools and Dance Camps are to be nut free throughout the summer at all six venues across the Wigan borough.
Sport Engagement Coordinator Ian Gaskell said: “Wigan Athletic Community summer camps will be going nut free so that all participants have the opportunity to engage in our camps in a safe and controlled environment. By going nut free we can ensure that those with allergies can join in and have fun without any worry.”
“It’s important that the camps are nut free as it allows us to engage with those who may not get the opportunity to do so due to their needs.
“We are aware that those with allergies can become isolated and treated differently due to their needs and we are now shaping our camps to ensure this is not the case.”
Priced at £10 per day and open to boys and girls aged 6-14 years old, the soccer schools and dance camps provide hours of fun for youngsters to practice, develop and improve their skills and techniques with qualified Community Trust coaches.
Alongside Standish High School, St Peter’s High School and Lowton High School, the trust have also partnered with local sides Golborne Sports, Pennington FC and Winstanley Warriors in providing more venues.
To book a place on any of the Community Trust’s soccer schools or dance camps, please complete the application on the online booking system here.
