Latics' Under 18 goalkeeper Bobby Jones has been called up to Republic of Ireland's Under 18 squad for their upcoming double-header against Turkey.
The 17-year-old, who is a first year apprentice at Latics, has impressed in our unbeaten Under 18 team in the EFL Youth Alliance, helping his side to 15 clean sheets this term.
Jones and his new Republic of Ireland team mates face Turkey at 1.00pm on Thursday 21 March, before a second game against the same opposition on Saturday 23 March.
The young stopper becomes Latics' seventh active youth international in the Under 18s, following in the footsteps of Joe Gelhardt (England), Jensen Weir (England), MacKenzie O'Neill (Northern Ireland), Kyle Joseph (Scotland), Luke Robinson (Scotland) and Thelo Aasgaard (Norway).
