Latics midfielder Lee Evans got valuable game time and a chance to impress in Ryan Giggs' Wales national team setup on Wednesday evening, with the 24-year-old featuring for the full 90 minutes in his country's 1-0 friendly victory over Trinidad & Tobago at Wrexham.
Evans, who was earning his third cap, will hope to have done enough to be involved when Wales' first 2020 UEFA European Championship qualifier against Slovakia at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon (kick off 2.00pm).
Wales will also come up against Azerbaijan, Croatia and Hungary during their qualifying campaign.
Elsewhere, MacKenzie O'Neill made his third appearance for Northern Ireland's U17s earlier in the day, with the young 'Green and White Army' suffering a 5-0 defeat at the hands of their UEFA U17 Elite Stage hosts Netherlands.
Bobby Jones has to wait for his Republic of Ireland debut, with the Academy goalkeeper an unused substitute in Ireland U18s' 4-0 loss to Turkey on Thursday afternoon.
