Speaking on the latest episode of the club's podcast, Latics Listen, full back Nathan Byrne took time to discuss a range of topics with team mate and fellow right-sider Gavin Massey.

Here's some of what Nath had to say, starting with a determination to look forwards, not backwards. You can listen to the full discussion from 2:26.

“You haven’t really got a chance to think about it, we were straight back in from Tuesday and immediately focused on Reading.

“Although you’re disappointed , by the time you’ve come back you’re focusing on putting it right.

“We’ve got two teams who are down there with us (Reading and Bolton Wanderers) and a local derby (Blackburn Rovers, so the next week is massive for us and we know we need points on the board.

“It’s all to play for and we want to get a good amount of points before the next international break.

“These games will feel like cup finals, we’ve got a big week coming with teams in and around us and especially on Saturday, three points would give us that little bit more breathing space and we need to go there full of confidence.”
