EARLY TEAM NEWS

WIGAN ATHLETIC

Latics have plenty of options in front of them as they hit the middle of a congested fixture list with a trip to Reading FC on Saturday afternoon, but one man who will not be involved is defender Danny Fox, with the former Nottingham Forest man substituted during Latics' 2-1 defeat to Derby County following an injury to his knee.

Kal Naismith was his replacement midway through the first half at Pride Park, but Paul Cook also has the option of Antonee Robinson, who, along with Callum McManaman, Gary Roberts and Shaun MacDonald, earned valuable match fitness in Latics' 2-1 victory against Port Vale in the Central League on Tuesday afternoon.

In his pre-match press conference, the gaffer revealed Latics had been dealt a couple of injury blows this week, but wouldn't go into detail as Latics continue to prepare for Saturday's game.

Wide men Gavin Massey and Michael Jacobs came into the side against Derby as Latics' two changes, with the latter setting up the former for the opening goal. Nick Powell also returned to the squad on the bench and was introduced in the second half.

Should defender Jonas Olsson feature at the weekend, he'll be making his debut for the club.

READING FC

Jose Gomes was dealt a double injury blow during his side's 2-1 away win against Ipswich Town last Saturday, with striker Nelson Oliveira, who has three goals in six matches, out with a hamstring injury, whilst goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez remains in with a chance of featuring at the Madejski Stadium this weekened.

Elsewhere, strikers Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Sam Baldock remain sidelined.
