Wigan Athletic’s Michael Millett award for the 2018-19 season went to young striker Charlie Jolley at Bank Holiday Monday’s End of Season Party in Mesnes Park.
Jolley, who made his first team debut on Saturday in the 1-0 victory over Millwall at the DW Stadium, scored 41 goals as he helped the under-18s to an unprecedented treble and the development squad to the Central League title.
Presented by fellow academy graduate Tylor Golden and academy manager Gregor Rioch, Jolley said:
“It has been a great season for me and my teammates and now I have to continue to keep working hard and doing the right things every day.
“It was amazing to make my debut at the weekend, it just gives you a taste for more.”
