INTERNATIONAL NEWS: OWEN EVANS INCLUDED IN WALES' SENIOR SQUAD TRAINING CAMP

First senior international involvement for Latics stopper Owen Evans.

  • International News: Owen Evans set for Welsh senior team training camp.
  • 22-year-old has represented Wales at Under 19 and Under 21 levels.
  • Evans won the Central League with Latics' Development Squad in 2018/19.

Latics goalkeeper Owen Evans is set to make the step up to Wales' senior international squad for a training camp in the Algarve from Wednesday 22 May to Tuesday 28 May, as one of three goalkeeper alongside Wayne Hennessey and Adam Davies in a 26-man squad.

The trip serves as a preparation for Wales' fixtures against Croatia and Hungary, with the squad announcement penned in for Wednesday 29 May.

Evans, who won the Central League with Latics' Development Squad this season, featured in ten 18-man squads for Latics in the Sky Bet Championship in 2018-19.

The 22-year-old has represented his country's Under 19s four times and Under 21s three times.
