  • 19-year-old picks up award for his stunning long-range strike at Bristol City.
  • James won the award with 50% of the votes.

We are delighted to announce the April winner of the Kingdom Services Goal of the Month is Reece James for his outrageous long-range goal against Bristol City in Latics' 2-2 draw at Ashton Gate.

The on-loan Chelsea man, who featured alongside Samy Morsy in midfield on the afternoon, received the ball in the centre circle, using his strength to turn his marker, before striding towards the 18-yard box, releasing his effort from well outside of the area to find the right corner!

The 19-year-old beat off competition from Ryan Galvin (33%) who ran the full length of the pitch to score for Latics' Under 17s against Fleetwood Town and Gavin Massey (10%) for his first goal against Leeds United on Good Friday.

Reece has also been nominated for April's Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month which you can vote for by [clicking here].

This season’s Goal of the Month awards are brought to you by Kingdom Services. Watch out for the Goal of the Season award on Sunday afternoon!

You can hear from Reece in the latest episode of our podcast, Latics Listen, as he recaps his season at Latics and first as a professional footballer.
