Central midfielder signed from Macclesfield Town in 2016.
Whitehead was signed on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Macclesfield Town in January 2016 and spent the rest of the season back on loan with the Silkmen.
He spent a spell on loan with Cheltenham Town during the early part of 2016-17, making six appearances, before returning for a second spell on loan at Macclesfield.
CAREER SO FAR
Whitehead began his career with Stockport County before West Ham United spotted his talents and offered him a contract in 2013. However, he managed only one FA Cup appearance during his time at The Boleyn Ground and signed a short-term deal at Accrington in March, making just two appearances. He joined Macclesfield in July 2015.
