Date of birth
Lightning quick forward who became Forest Green Rovers’ on-loan promotion hero.
Woolery was a deadline day signing in August 2016, and signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the DW Stadium after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Bolton Wanderers.
He made just one appearance for Latics, as a late substitute at home to Derby County, before moving to Forest Green Rovers and playing a key role in their promotion to League Two.
The young forward has blistering pace and will be looking to make an impact in 2017-18.
CAREER SO FAR
London-born Woolery was at Maidstone United as a teenager before being signed by Bolton Wanderers aged 18 in 2013.
He subsequently was sent on loan at Tamworth and Notts County before breaking through to the Wanderers first team in 2015-16, for whom he played a total of 19 times in the league, scoring twice in five starts.
Having already played for Bolton in 2016-17 by the time he joined Latics, EFL rules prevented him from joining another League club, hence he moved to the National League in January 2017.
He went on to play 16 regular league games for Forest Green, scoring twice, then in both play-off semi-finals versus Dagenham & Redbridge. He then secured his name in Rovers’ folklore forever by scoring two great goals in a man-of-the-match performance in the final at Wembley against Tranmere Rovers as the Green Army won promotion to the EFL for the first time in their history.
