Australian youth international left back currently on loan at Latics from Premier League Leicester City for the 2017-18 season.

Powerful and quick, Callum Elder was brought in for the 2017-18 season to bolster options at left-back as Reece James returned from a long-term injury.

Elder's Latics career got off to the worst possible start individually as he was sent off on his debut as Latics won 1-0 at MK Dons on the opening day of the campaign.

Since, though, Elder has impressed regularly and continues to compete with James for a regular starting spot.

CAREER SO FAR
Sydney-born Elder joined Leicester at the age of 16 having initially been with local side Manly United, progressing through the ranks to be offered professional terms at the King Power Stadium, though he is yet to feature for the first team.

He has had loan spells at Mansfield Town in League Two, Peterborough United in League One, playing in the 3-2 defeat against Latics in October 2015, and also had brief spells in the Championship with Brentford and Barnsley in 2016-17.
