Young Liverpool-born defender who progressed through the academy to make his full league debut in 2016.
Burke has been at the club since the age of 12, and has come through all the age ranges, captaining the Under 18s to the Fifth Round of the FA Youth Cup and also Football League Youth Alliance, winning the Michael Millett Award as the Under 18s Player of The Season before signing his first professional contract in July 2016, which was quickly extended until the summer of 2018.
He featured in pre-season with the first team, and made his debut in the opening game of the season at Bristol City, keeping his place at right back for the next two fixtures at home to Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City, coming off the bench at Nottingham Forest and starting at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday.
His progress was halted by a hamstring strain and he has had to bide his time since, eventually spending a month on loan at Barrow in February 2017 in the National League, and featuring twice for The Bluebirds.
