Striker signed in January 2015 who has spent the past two seasons on loan away from the club

Latics signed McKay from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January 2015 on a three and a half year deal, for an undisclosed fee but he has spent both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons on loan away from the club after just nine appearances in total.

He made his Latics debut as a late substitute in 0-0 draw at Portman Road against Ipswich in January 2015 and made a total of eight appearances that season, all as a substitute apart from the final day defeat at Brentford, without scoring.

His last appearance for Latics was at Gillingham in August 2015.

Born in Corby, Mckay came through the ranks at Leicester City, eventually signing for Northampton Town under Stuart Gray, in 2009.

After two years at Sixfields, Mckay moved to Inverness CT for whom he scored an impressive 54 league goals in 121 games whilst he earned his first full international cap for Northern Ireland in a 0-0 draw against Malta in February 2013.

He spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Dundee United, scoring 12 goals in league 29 games at Tannardyce, before joining Oldham Athletic in August 2016 where he played 26 league games without scoring but did manage four cup goals. He rejoined Inverness in January 2017, scoring three times in 11 appearances.
