Date of birth
Near ever-present member of Latics' 2017-18 Sky Bet League One title-winning squad, whose hard work and endeavour made him a firm favourite of his manager Paul Cook
Massey signed a two-year deal at Wigan Athletic in June 2017 after leaving Leyton Orient and he proved to be an important member of Paul Cook's squad in his debut season at the DW Stadium.
With the ability to play as a winger or a central attacker, Massey had amassed a lot of experience at a relatively young age and added power and pace to the Latics front line.
Massey's first season returned 50 appearances in all competitions, in which time he scored six goals and created numerous others for his teammates.
CAREER SO FAR
Watford-born Massey made his league debut for his home town club at the age of 17, having come through the ranks at Vicarage Road.
He made several substitute appearances for the Hornets before loan spells at Wealdstone Town and Yeovil Town followed, for whom he made a dramatic first league start four days after his 19th birthday, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw, in October 2011.
A loan spell with Colchester United followed later that season and he signed permanently for them in the summer of 2012, going on to play 158 league games for United over the next four seasons, scoring 20 times.
He moved to Leyton Orient in the summer of 2016, scoring eight in 36 league appearances but was allowed to leave Brisbane Road following the club’s demotion to the National League.
