Date of birth
Highly-rated England Under 21 goalkeeper, currently on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion for the 2017-18 season.
Cornwall-born Christian Walton signed on loan for Latics from Brighton & Hove Albion for the 2017-18 season after a great campaign in 2016-17, in which he excelled during loan spells at Luton Town and Southend United.
The 6ft 5in goalkeeper signed a new four-year contract at the AMEX Stadium in July 2017 but with the Seagulls reaching the Premier League, Chris Hughton felt his development would benefit from more game time in the EFL, with Paul Cook's Latics.
With a calmness beyond his years, he is a commanding presence in the box and has exceptional shot-stopping abilities.
CAREER SO FAR
Walton actually made his Football League debut against Latics in a 1-0 victory for The Seagulls at the AMEX in November 2014, where he was voted man of the match.
He had short spells on loan at Bury and Plymouth Argyle in 2015-16, in fact playing for the Shakers in their League Cup victory at the DW Stadium in September 2015. He then played 27 times for Luton Town on loan in 2016-17 before finishing off the season at Southend United.
