Academy graduate and fans' favourite who returned to the club for a second spell in July 2018.

One of the heroes of Latics' 2013 FA Cup winning side, Callum McManaman returned to the DW Stadium ahead of the 2018-19 season from Sunderland.

McManaman made his Latics debut in May 2009 in a 1-0 Premier League win over Portsmouth before scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-2 FA Cup win at Hull City in January 2011.

Following a spell on loan at Blackpool, McManaman returned to Latics' first team squad in the 2012-13 season and established himself as a key player for Roberto Martinez's side.

His best form came in the FA Cup as he scored in wins over Huddersfield Town, Everton and Millwall to send Latics to the final against Manchester City, where a man of the match performance helped Latics to win the trophy for the first time in the club's history.

Latics were relegated from the Premier League soon after their Cup triumph, though, but McManaman continued to impress over the next 18 months in the Championship before a move to Premier League West Bromwich Albion materialised.

McManaman's spell at the Hawthorns didn't return the first team football he desired and, as such, after a loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday he moved to Sunderland.

At the Stadium of Light, McManaman played 26 times before moving to Latics this summer.
